Colossal Cave

I worked on Roberta William’s redesign of Colossal cave as a sound designer and artist. My role was to create sound effects and ambient soundscapes to immerse players in the variety of environments they may find themselves in. I also designed and created some of the art assets such as the giant’s portrait and the troll bridge. The game was released for Meta Quest 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, and PSVR. See the playthrough video below to hear some of the audio I designed.

“Acclaimed game designer Roberta Williams revives Colossal Cave as a retro, point-&-click, cave exploration puzzler. Based on the original 1970’s design by Will Crowther & Don Woods this 3D update maintains its vintage charm, while revitalizing it for modern gamers.”

Maestro's Theatre

This is a studio project I worked on with a talented group of students at NCSU. I challenged them to rethink the arcade experience. You play as a puppet tasked to save the theatre by successfully entertaining the audience. As you progress, the arcade machine actually rotates and the curtains open at the beginning of each act.

I served as a producer and technical designer, helping the students with scheduling, organization, and implementing game play mechanics. The cabinet is custom made and the game was created with the Unreal Engine.

Fallen Earth

Fallen Earth is a post apocalyptic MMO set in the Grand Canyon region 150 years in the future. I first worked as a level designer, designing interior dungeons. Instead of the traditional dungeons you might find in typical MMOs, Fallen Earth players play through prisons, schools, supermarkets, and other modern built environments. I designed several levels, including the layouts, testing, art, and lighting.

After a few years, I moved to a lead environment artist role where I led a team of artists to design exterior game playing space and revamped our production pipeline.
